Nine Lives
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Nine Lives is a top-down action survival game where the player takes control of a house cat trapped inside a veterinary clinic during a zombie outbreak. After waking up in an eerie, silent vet room, the cat discovers that the building has been overrun by infected humans. The player must explore the clinic, fight zombies, locate their owner, and guide them safely to the exit where they are safe at last -- or so they thought!
The game follows a short linear survival experience with multiple areas, beginning in the clinic, until the escape where the player must now navigate through the city, locate the owner's car keys, and drive away. Meanwhile facing what feels like the end of the world, the player must protect the owner from these zombies. The cat has nine hearts, while the owner only has four, making careful movement and combat important.
How To Play
The goal of the game is to survive the veterinary clinic, rescue the owner, find the exit, escape, and now find the car keys to truly escape the city.
Controls:
WASD — Move
Left Mouse Button - Claw Attack
E - Pick up or use item
F - Command Human
Combat
The cat can use quick claw attacks or stronger bite attacks. Zombies attack by getting close to the player or the owner, and each hit removes one heart.
If the cat or the owner loses all hearts, the level restarts. On restart, the key, owner, and zombies are reset.
